Wellington City Council is looking into whether it, too, is getting stiffed on exorbitant road cone charges, like Auckland City Council.
The Auckland City report on road cone / road safety usage found that there was system defined by “risk aversion” (yep) with very little consideration for the impact on businesses and communities (aha!).
Auckland’s report will be relevant to Wellington, we would suggest, and for every single district and city council around the country. As it is in Auckland, it is everywhere else: the country is awash with road cones.
AOTEAROADCONE!
The real question is, would Wellington have even bothered to question this if it hadn’t been for Auckland?
